Pre-Trading Checklist: Exchange Requirements

Review this mandatory checklist to ensure your exchange account is correctly configured so Stoic’s AI can successfully start trading.

To ensure Stoic’s advanced AI algorithms can effectively manage your portfolio, your exchange account must meet specific requirements. If your account is not configured correctly, the bot will not be able to start trading.

Please review the following checklist to ensure you are ready to go:

1. Use a Supported Exchange

Stoic connects directly to your personal crypto exchange via API. Ensure you are using one of our supported platforms: Binance, Binance US, Coinbase, KuCoin, Crypto.com, Bybit, or Hyperliquid.

⚠️ Important Location Check: Please verify that the exchange you select legally operates and provides full services in your country of residence (for example, Binance is currently restricted in several European countries).

2. Convert to the Correct Base Currency (Critical)

The AI algorithms require your funds to be held in specific base currencies to initiate trading. You must manually convert your funds on the exchange before connecting. The required currency depends on your connected exchange and strategy:

  • Bybit: You must hold USDT for all strategies.

  • Coinbase & Hyperliquid: Hold USDC or BTC.

  • Binance.US: Hold USD, BTC, or ETH.

  • Binance, KuCoin, Crypto.com: Generally hold USDT or BTC (Note: Index strategies on Binance also accept ETH and USDC. Binance Fixed Income can start with USD).

3. Maintain the Minimum Balance

The minimum balance required to start trading depends entirely on the specific strategy you choose to run:

  • $500 Minimum: Crypto Index (on most exchanges), Fixed Income, and Bybit Meta.

  • $1,000 Minimum: Meta (on Binance and Hyperliquid) and BTC Yield.

  • $3,000 Minimum: Super Forcaster (Binance).

If your balance drops below these thresholds, the algorithm may struggle to execute trades efficiently due to exchange limits.

4. Configure API Permissions Correctly

Because Stoic is a non-custodial service, it needs specific permissions to trade on your behalf without having access to your funds. Carefully check your exchange API settings based on your strategy's required markets:

  • Enable Reading: Checked for all strategies.

  • Enable Spot & Margin Trading: Checked for most strategies.

  • Enable Futures / Coin-M Trading: Checked ONLY if your chosen strategy trades on futures (e.g., Meta, BTC Yield, Super Forcaster, KuCoin Index, or Bybit strategies). (Note: Futures trading may be restricted for Bybit users residing in the EU).

  • Enable Withdrawals: UNCHECKED (Never enable this!).

5. One Strategy Per Account

If you plan to use more than one Stoic strategy, do not run them on the same main exchange balance. You must create separate Sub-accounts (e.g., on Binance or Bybit) for each strategy and link them with unique API keys.

🚨 CRITICAL WARNING: If the system detects that multiple strategies are running on a single exchange account, it may automatically stop all trading completely. Running different algorithms on the same balance causes severe trading conflicts that can lead to the rapid and total loss of your funds.

Once these steps are completed and your management fee is paid, Stoic will automatically begin analyzing the market and execute its first trades within 24 hours!
