Depending on your goals and which strategy you are using, here are the best ways to pause or stop the trading activity on your account:
1. Use the "Pause trading" feature (Recommended)
The easiest way to temporarily or permanently stop the bot is directly through the app's settings.
Go to the Portfolio tab in the app.
Select the specific strategy you want to stop.
Go to the Settings menu.
Tap on Pause trading.

How it works: Once activated, Stoic will stop opening new trades for this strategy.
How to Resume Trading at Any Time
You are never locked into a paused state. If you change your mind or want the bot to start trading again, you can easily resume operations at any time.
Go to the same Settings menu in your Portfolio.
Tap on the Resume trading button.

2. For "Stoic AI Crypto Index": Hedging to 100%
Alternatively, if you are using the Crypto Index strategy, you can stop trading by setting your Hedging to 100%.
How it works: Wait for the settings to take effect (usually within 24 hours). This will convert your portfolio into the strategy's base currency, and Stoic will stop opening new trades.
To resume: You can restart trading anytime by simply changing the hedging setting back (e.g., to 0% or 50%).
3. For Futures-Based Strategies (Meta, Fixed Income, Automated Bitcoin Yield, Bybit MLO, KuCoin MLO)
Strategies that involve futures markets operate differently. For these strategies, pausing the bot does not simply terminate the trades; instead, it executes a 100% hedge to protect your funds.
To stop these specific strategies completely and ensure all complex positions are closed out safely without leaving open futures contracts:

4. Emergency Stop (All Strategies)
If you need to halt all activity immediately, you can delete the API keys directly inside your exchange account. This causes an instant, hard disconnection of our algorithms.
Important Warning: In this case, all currently opened positions will stay open, as Stoic instantly loses the ability to control them. You must check and manage these positions manually on your exchange to avoid potential losses due to market volatility.
