Learn how to activate your Binance Futures account to run Stoic advanced futures-based algorithmic strategies like Meta and Super Forecaster.
To run futures-based quantitative strategies on Stoic (such as Meta, BTC Yield, or Super Forecaster), your Binance account must have Futures trading enabled. If you have never traded derivatives on Binance before, the Futures wallet is inactive by default.
When the Futures wallet is inactive, Binance disables and greys out the "Enable Futures" checkbox in your API settings. Activating your Futures account takes less than two minutes.

Futures and derivatives trading on Binance is strictly restricted in multiple jurisdictions due to local regulations (including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and most European Economic Area countries such as Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands).
If you do not see the Derivatives or Futures tab in your Binance navigation bar, futures trading is unavailable in your jurisdiction. For restricted regions, we recommend connecting via Bybit to trade Stoic futures strategies.
Step-by-Step Activation Guide
Step 1: Navigate to the USDⓈ-M Futures Section
Log in to your Binance account (or select your dedicated Stoic Sub-Account if you are using one).
On the top navigation menu, hover over Derivatives (or tap Futures in the mobile app).
Select USDⓈ-M Futures.
Note: Stoic strategies trade USDT-settled contracts. Always choose USDⓈ-M Futures, never COIN-M Futures.

Step 2: Open Your Futures Account
When entering the Futures trading interface for the first time, a setup prompt will appear:
A registration window titled Open Futures Account will pop up.
You may leave the referral code field blank.
Review the terms, check the box confirming you accept the Binance Futures Service Agreement, and click Open Now.

Step 3: Complete the Binance Futures Risk Assessment Quiz
To comply with regulatory standards, Binance prompts first-time users to complete a short educational risk assessment quiz.
The quiz covers leverage basics, liquidation mechanics, and margin requirements.
If you select an incorrect answer, Binance will highlight the correct answer and allow you to reselect it immediately until you pass.
Step 4: Update Your API Key Permissions
Once your Futures account is active:
Navigate to API Management on Binance.
Locate your Stoic API key and click Edit restrictions.
Under API restrictions, check the Enable Futures checkbox (alongside Enable Reading and Enable Spot & Margin Trading).
Click Save at the top right and verify via 2FA.
💡 Deposit Reminder: Ensure your trading deposit is held in USDT in your Spot or USDⓈ-M Futures wallet. Stoic will not initiate trades if the available balance falls below the strategy minimum ($500).
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the "Enable Futures" checkbox grayed out when editing my API key?
This occurs when your Binance account has not completed initial Futures registration. Follow Steps 1–3 above to open the USDⓈ-M Futures interface, accept the agreement, and pass the risk quiz. Once completed, the checkbox will unlock immediately.
Do I need to manually transfer my USDT to the Futures wallet?
If you are using a dedicated Sub-Account, transfer your USDT directly to the USDⓈ-M Futures wallet of that sub-account. If you are using a standard account with trusted IP whitelisting enabled, the algorithm can interact with your balances, but holding your USDT directly in your USDⓈ-M Futures wallet ensures immediate order execution.
Does Stoic require COIN-M Futures?
No. Stoic exclusively trades USDⓈ-M Futures (USDT-margined contracts). Do not activate or transfer collateral into COIN-M contracts for Stoic strategies.
What should I do if the Futures tab is missing entirely from Binance?
If the Futures tab is not visible, Binance has restricted derivatives in your verified country of residence. In this case, you cannot run futures-based strategies on Binance. We suggest setting up an account on Bybit, which supports Stoic futures strategies across more eligible jurisdictions.
