Stoic asks for extra fees! Why?

Learn why a balance adjustment fee may appear in your account, how it is calculated when new deposits exceed your subscription limit, and what to do if you change your balance

Why Am I Seeing an Adjustment Fee?

Stoic operates on a subscription tier model based on Assets Under Management (AUM): Starter (up to $2.5K), Plus (up to $5K), and Pro (up to $10K).

Because Stoic automatically manages the entire Spot balance of your connected exchange portfolio, fee adjustments can occur under specific conditions:

  • Additional Deposits: If you deposit fresh funds into your exchange account that push your total balance above your current plan’s limit, Stoic detects this as a deposit and calculates a prorated Balance Adjustment Fee.

  • Organic Trading Gains Do Not Trigger Fees: If your portfolio grows beyond your plan limit purely due to profitable trades and market appreciation, no extra fees are charged. Your algorithm continues trading uninterrupted.

How the Adjustment Fee Works

  • Calculation: The adjustment fee is 5% per year on the amount exceeding your tier limit, prorated for the remaining days of your prepaid billing period.

  • 30 USDT Minimum Threshold: Stoic does not invoice for minor adjustments. If the calculated fee is under 30 USDT, trading continues normally with no invoice. Once total adjustments exceed 30 USDT, payment instructions will be sent to your email.

How to Avoid Unwanted Management Fees

Stoic trades all available funds in your connected exchange account or portfolio. If you hold assets you do not want Stoic to trade:

  1. Use a Separate Sub-Account or Portfolio: Move long-term holdings or non-trading assets to a separate exchange wallet, sub-account, or portfolio.

  2. Withdraw Excess Funds: If you reduce your deposit back within your plan limit, reach out to support.

Will the Fee Disappear Automatically if I Withdraw Funds?

No. If a balance adjustment was generated and you subsequently withdraw funds or reconfigure your API keys, the pending adjustment will not clear automatically in the interface.

However, this does not interrupt your trading. To clear or recalculate the pending fee:

  • Reach out directly via the in-app chat or email at Stoic.

  • Our support team will review your account balance and promptly recalculate or remove the outdated fee.
