There are two types of subscription cancellation:
Voluntary cancellation (user-initiated)
Cancellation due to non-payment
The outcome depends on which type applies.
1. Cancellation Due to Non-Payment
If a subscription is not renewed on time:
The paid subscription period ends
You receive a notification that the subscription has expired and payment is required
If payment is not received within 7 days, Stoic stops all trading activity.
What happens next depends on your strategy type:
Spot-based strategies (e.g., Stoic AI Crypto Index):
The bot stops placing new trades
Your portfolio remains as it was when trading stopped
Assets stay in your exchange account
In other words, trading stops, but your assets remain untouched.
Futures-based strategies (e.g., Meta, Fixed Income, etc.):
All open positions are closed
Funds are converted into the base asset (e.g., USDT, USDC or the relevant settlement currency)
No new positions are opened
This approach prevents unmanaged leveraged exposure once automated trading stops.
2. Voluntary Cancellation (User-Initiated)
If you cancel your subscription manually:
The strategy continues operating until the end of your paid billing period
No new charges are applied
Trading stops automatically once the subscription term expires.
This works like streaming subscriptions (music or video platforms): cancellation prevents renewal, but doesn't interrupt the current paid period.
If You Want to Stop Trading Immediately
To stop all trading activity right away, without waiting for the subscription period to end, you have two options:
Manual Disconnection
Disable or delete your API keys in your exchange account.
Manually close open positions in the exchange interface.
Through request to support
Alternatively, you can contact support via email at [email protected] or through in-app chat and request assistance in stopping trading before your subscription expires.
Important Note
Stoic cannot withdraw funds from your exchange account. All assets remain under your control and responsibility at all times.
