Why is there a difference between Stoic and Binance balances?

It is completely normal to see a slight discrepancy between your balance in the Stoic app and your actual balance on Binance. In most cases, this is simply a synchronization delay. However, if you notice a significant difference that persists for a long time, it is usually caused by specific exchange settings.

Here are the most common reasons for a balance mismatch and how to fix them:

1. API Synchronization Delays

Binance displays your balance in real-time. Stoic data and Binance data are not always perfectly in sync because Stoic needs some time to catch up. The app updates your balance via API once every few hours and typically rebalances your portfolio daily. Minor, temporary differences are expected.

2. Binance Earn and "Auto-Subscribe"

If you have the Auto-Subscribe feature enabled in Binance Earn, Binance will automatically move your funds from your Spot wallet to your Earn wallet. Stoic cannot access funds stored in Binance Earn. When this happens, Stoic interprets it as a loss of funds, which breaks the trading algorithm.

  • How to fix: Open your Binance app, go to your Earn wallet, turn off the Auto-Subscribe toggle, and click Redeem to return your funds back to your Spot wallet.

3. Incorrect Wallet or Currency for Your Strategy

Stoic strategies have strict requirements regarding where your funds must be held and in what initial currency:

  • Stoic AI Crypto Index (SI): Trades on the Spot market. Your funds must be located in your Spot wallet in USDT, BTC, or ETH (or USDC depending on the sub-preset).

  • Fixed Income (FI): Trades on Futures (USDS-M / Coin-M). Your balance must be located in your Futures wallet strictly in USD/USDT.

  • Binance Meta (MLS): Trades on both Spot and Futures. Your balance requires funds in both Spot and Futures wallets in USDT or BTC.

  • Binance BTC Yield (BTC_YIELD): Uses Spot and Futures. Requires funds in both Spot and Futures wallets in USDT or BTC.

  • Binance Super Forcaster (SF): Uses Spot and Futures. Requires funds in both Spot and Futures wallets in USDT or BTC.

4. API Key Permissions

If you are running the Fixed Income strategy, your Binance API key must have the correct permissions:

  • Ensure that the Enable Futures checkbox is ticked in your Binance API settings. (Note: If you created your API key before opening a Futures account, this checkbox will be greyed out. You must create a new API key).

  • Ensure that Stoic's Trusted IPs are added to the API restriction whitelist.

⚠️ Note: The IP address "1.1.1.1" shown in the screenshot above is just an example. You must copy the actual Trusted IP addresses directly from the Stoic app and paste them into this field.
